Review: Leonardo Royal Hotel Brighton Waterfront (with indoor heated pool!)

Brighton is a popular seaside destination known for its vibrancy, creativity, and inclusivity. Just an hour from London by train, Brighton is perfect for a day or weekend trip from the capital city. Visitors have known this ever since the opening of the railway service between the two cities in 1841. They come for Brighton's pebbled beach, the amusement park at Brighton Palace Pier, the historic Royal Pavilion, quirky shopping districts, and energetic nightlife.

For overnight visitors, the Leonardo Royal Hotel Brighton Waterfront (renamed from Jurys Inn since 2022) is situated on the A259 along the beach. It has a good location, being less than a 10-minute walk to the Brighton Palace Pier and i360 observation tower. For guests travelling by train, the hotel is a 12-minute walk from Brighton train station. For those travelling by car, The Lanes car park is underneath the hotel and guests can receive a discounted rate of 25 pounds for 24 hours (tickets need to be validated at the hotel reception).

The hotel's rooms and common spaces are all newly refurbished, providing a comfortable stay for all guests. Rooms facing the southward direction will also enjoy Brighton's sea views.

The 210-bedroom hotel is designed in a rectangular loop, with rooms that face inwards (towards the hotel lobby) and outwards. There is only one set of elevators, so a room at the opposite corner means a longer walk through the corridor, pushing through many fire doors along the way.

Health and Leisure Club

The highlight of the hotel is the on-site Health and Leisure Club, which guests enjoy complimentary access. This is a great facility that features a well-equipped gym, indoor heated swimming pool, and sauna. However, it closes quite early at 9pm from Mondays to Thursdays, and 8pm from Fridays to Sundays.
