Review: Grand Hyatt Abu Dhabi Hotel & Residences Emirates Pearl, UAE

The Grand Hyatt Abu Dhabi Hotel & Residences Emirates Pearl is a 5-star luxury hotel in the West Corniche area of Abu Dhabi, the capital city of the United Arab Emirates. Situated between the Jumeirah Etihad Towers and Bab Al Qasr, it is a grand hotel of artistic and glamorous splendor across the common spaces and the 428 rooms. The Corniche Beach is a short walk away, and the Marina Mall is also reachable. It is located 35-minutes by car from Abu Dhabi International Airport (AUH) for passengers arriving from the airport or transiting on Etihad Airways.

The four-storey tall lobby with artistic installations gives guests an immediate feel of what the hotel has to offer. Check-in was efficient and I was quickly on my way to the elevators, ready to see what the room had to offer.

The room had powerful air-conditioning, which was very appreciated considering Abu Dhabi's intense heat during the summer months. I particularly enjoyed the fact that the rooms have an outdoor balcony, which offers views of the Gulf or nearby palaces, depending on the side that the room faces. The view can be enjoyed either in the outdoor balcony, or enjoyed indoors by retracting the electric-powered curtains which can be controlled from the balcony-facing bed.

The hotel also has a large fitness center and a spectacular pool, both of which were rather empty at the time of my visit.

Dining options at the hotel include Verso, which is an award winning Trattoria styled Italian restaurant. I tried the breakfast at this restaurant which, although pricey, had a delightful mix of Italian dishes and breakfast favourites. There were also good healthy options available such as nuts, salad, yoghurt and a variety of toast. Other dining options at the hotel include Sahha which offers a variety of cuisines by native ethnic chefs, the Pearl Lounge, and the Lexx bar.

My overall impression of the hotel is that it is artsy, classy and glamorous in all observable aspects. The hotel is still very new, having opened its doors on 1st June 2018, which is a plus point compared to the nearby St. Regis Abu Dhabi, making it a good option for both business and leisure travellers alike.
